Celtic F.C has had its fair share of memorable matches in not only the Scottish League Championship but on European and International levels as well.
Back in the 2000/2001 season, Celtic Fans knew they could expect some fantastic football when new manager Martin O’Neill took charge of the club.
In the month of August during his first season at the head of the club, he predicted that they would trash the Rangers. Indeed, within 11 minutes of play, the Bhoys were leading 3-0. Chris Sutton scored the first goal in less than 1 minutes after the start of the match.
Celtic won this match with a score of 6-2.
This marked the revival of the Parkhead turf, where they enjoyed a treble during that season.
One of the most memorable but dramatic match for Celtic F.C is most probably the UEFA Cup Final in 2003, where they clashed against FC Porto. This is the match where José Mourinho was noticed by the whole world after leading FC Porto to European victory in his first season in charge of the club.
This atmosphere at this Seville game was simply magical.
This game kicked off with all Celtic fans feeling optimistic. Just before half time ended, Derlie scored for Porto.
And two minutes in the second half, it was Henrik Larsson who scored from a fabulous header.
However, Alenichev great shot on the 54 minutes gave the advantage to Porto.
But Larson was at it again and quickly scored to equalise. The match moved to Extra time where Derlei scored a late goal at the 120mins to give Porto the win. Although Celtic lost this game, they were hailed as winners for their great performance.

Another memorable Celtic victory happened during the Group Stage of the UEFA Champions League in November 2012, where Celtic was playing against Barcelona. During the game, the Scottish title holders were forced to bear the huge amount of pressure as their opponent pushed forward.
Wanyama placed a fantastic header from a corner to give the Hoops the lead on the 21st minute. Celtic’s defence looked weak with the attacking Barcelona team. With seven minutes left, Celtic Park became in a rapturous mood as Tony Watt, the Champions League debutant scored for Celtic.
During added time, Messi tried to level up with a goal, but it was too late for Barcelona as the match ended with a score of 2-1.
